On a late November visit to Las Vegas, we took some time to go to a nearby wetlands park, where the helpful park ranger invited us to watch while she fed the resident Gambel's Quails:

And this is the reason we went to Las Vegas in the first place: an AWS conference.
Rolling back the clock a little bit, here are some pictures from the Sandy Hook banding section. This Canada Warbler is about to get its ring.

Once released, the Canada Warblers will fly north to their nesting forests in, well, Canada.
