Kerala province's defining feature is a large lagoon - or "backwater" as they call it in India. It's half the size of Delaware Bay. The lagoon is home to hundreds of large house boats, of a distinct Indian design. They are all for rent - I am planning to try one out on my next trip there!

India Impressions
Random scenes and sights from Chennai to Coimbatore to Cochin.
It's been more than 20 years since I've been in a state under a communist rule. Until I came to India's Kerala province:
In the US, we have one type of banana (Chiquita). In India, there are many:

Which bottle came from the 5-star hotel, and which from the roadside shop?
If you thought that the hotel must've served the Himalayan water, you are mistaken. Kansas is much more exotic there...
